There's a great freeware named Foxit reader as an alternative to resource hungry adobe acrobat reader.
Foxit reader has been ranked #1 in document management software. By comparing the features of adobe acrobat reader and Foxit reader, I observed that there are many features in adobe acrobat reader which I or most of the people would have rarely used and I think that the developers of Foxit reader noticed this so they have only kept the features which are necessary leaving out all the unnecessary ones.
Unlike acrobat reader Foxit reader loads amazingly fast. You will not face the problem of reading environment because the interface is almost same as acrobat reader. Overall, its best feature is that it is freeware.You must give it a try.
